Choral Arts of Luzerne County will be holding rehearsals / auditions for the Spring 2012 season beginning Tuesday, January 24th at Church of Christ Uniting, 190 South Sprague Avenue, Kingston. Rehearsals will be held each Tuesday evening from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. There are openings for new sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses. New members are encouraged to come to an open rehearsal on January 24th or 31st or February 7th. They may sing at the entire rehearsal and audition the following week. The chorus will be preparing for performances of Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb and Kodaly's Missa Brevis.
At your 10-minute audition, you will be asked to sing four things:
1. A vocal warm-up exercise (to hear your vocal quality and range)
2. A series of short musical patterns (to test your ear)
3. A song of your choosing. You may bring sheet music or you may choose to sing "My Country Tis' of Thee" (we'll provide the music and words)
4. The music in the packet you received the previous week
