Choral Arts of Luzerne County is a non-profit choral society which endeavors to educate its members and the community by promoting musical artistry through the performance of fine choral literature.  Our performances will strive to enrich the community around us, while sustaining the heritage of choral music.

Choral Arts of Luzerne County, directed by John Curtis, will present  "Choral Arts on Stage"  a concert of spectacular music from the worlds of grand opera and Broadway. Both of these traditions involve telling stories through music, and are not as different as most people believe. The chorus will sing stirring music by Wagner and Verdi, as well as selections from Les Miserables, West Side Story, and many of the musicals of Richard Rodgers. As an added treat, the ballroom dance team of Raphael and Lauren Cooper will bring to life music from Scott Joplin's ragtime opera "Treemonisha" and Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta "The Gondoliers".

Someone said, "Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul."  In our troubled world today, it is nice to have time to put aside our worries and allow the music to speak to us.  The hard work, time and energy our sixty-five member chorus promises to deliver a stirring performance.

Thanks in advance for your support and encouragement.  We hope to see you at our exciting concert!
