Choral Arts of Luzerne County is a non-profit choral society which endeavors to educate its members and the community by promoting musical artistry through the performance of fine choral literature. Our performances will strive to enrich the community around us, while sustaining the heritage of choral music. CALC's music leadership includes Dr. John Curtis as music director and Betty Porzuczek as rehearsal pianist.
CALC's 2011 - 2012 season is "CALC + 1", an exploration of music for chorus combined with one solo instrument. The Fall concert will feature beautiful music for chorus and harp, and the spring concert will spotlight the majestic sounds of chorus and organ. Someone said, "Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul." In our troubled world today, it is nice to have time to put aside our worries and allow the music to speak to us. The hard work, time and energy our sixty-five member chorus promises to deliver a stirring performance.
Thanks in advance for your support and encouragement. We hope to see you at our exciting concerts!
